Individual Therapy

You're Ready for a Change

You’re used to being the strong one that everyone leans on. The one that everyone comes to for support and you’re really great at helping.

It feels weird to ask for help but you are ready to make some changes in your life, and wonder if having the extra support can be the ingredient you need to make it happen.

I work with many individuals navigating things like anxiety, perfectionism, attachment issues and family dynamics.

Anxiety & Perfectionism

Chances are, if you clicked on this link, I don’t need to explain anxiety to you. You’ve got the symptoms down.
  • Racing thoughts? Check.
  • Trouble sleeping? Check.
  • Intrusive and repetitive negative thoughts? Check and check.
Maybe you have been struggling with it for a few months, or maybe it has been hanging around for as long as you can remember. Regardless of the whys or hows of your anxious feelings, therapy has been shown to be helpful in treating it for many people. I have a strong background in working with people dealing with anxiety just like you on a one to one basis.

Anxiety sucks-

But it IS manageable and it doesn’t have to rule your life.

Depression

If you struggle with depression you aren’t alone. You aren’t broken. Being depressed does NOT define you (even though sometimes I know it feels like it does). Depression CAN be treated effectively. I have worked with many people of all ages and backgrounds, who have struggled with depression and have been able to make awesome improvements.

Of course, there are many factors involved- and I’m going to tell you a secret- I’m not a miracle worker or a magician. I’m not going to claim that I can make your depression disappear with the wave of a wand, some magic words, or a special product to buy (and you should be cautious of anyone who tells you they can).

But what I can promise is that I will work hard alongside you, as you take the journey towards a life with more joy, meaning and laughter. I’ll bring my experience and education in working with depressed people like you to the table as I help support you as you learn the best ways to manage your feelings and thoughts.

Bi- Cultural/ "Third Culture Kids"

multi-cultural counseling and relationship counseling with Yasmine

It’s easy to feel like therapy is set up for white, heteronormative, Western clients- and well… it has been traditionally.

I specialize in working with multicultural issues- specifically those related to Arab Americans. I understand that it can feel daunting to have to not only find a therapist, but then have to try and explain your non traditional family or background. With both lived experience and additional education and skills related to multicultural therapy, I offer my clients a safe, understanding, and nonjudgmental space to work with the issues they bring into therapy.
